Swimming Curriculum

Ivy Bank pupils attend swimming lessons once a week for a term. 

For Summer term 2024, we are focusing on our non-swimming Year 5 pupils for the first 5 weeks and then Year 6 will swim until the end of term.  This is the final part of our Covid-catch up plan.

Within our Year 5 cohort:

28/52 pupils can swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distances of at least 25 metres.

28/52 pupils can use a range of strokes effectively

TO BE ASSESSED -  pupils can perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.
