PAVEMENT WIDENING PROJECT
The school is supporting its community and working hard to make the pavement wider and safer for pedestrians given we've had some dangerous and near-misses given the amount of traffic along Valley Road.
People and pushchairs were needing to go onto the road to get past one another and vehicles leaving the car park were unable to see the pedestrians as they crossed the pavement into the road.
We will be painting the original fencing black to look smart and highways will be removing the stumps and tarmacing the gap to widen the pavement.
The school has new birdboxes for the sparrows and have always valued the local birds where work with the RSPB over the years has noted that we provide an excellent environment for them around the back of the school and the woodland walk areas.
The front area inside the school grounds is having kerb edging and tarmac to create some additional car parking spaces for staff given the current size of the school which will get more cars off the road making it safer for everyone.
Thank you for your support and understanding whilst we work through this improvement project.
