Topic
|
- “Arrrrr Me Hearties!!!!” This half term, we are looking at pirates and their way of life. Some of your writing tasks will be linked to pirates and some History and Geography activities will be too!
- For Geography this week, we are going to look at a compass. Pirates used a compass to navigate the seas on their adventures.
- Draw or ‘collage’ a ‘compass rose’ in your Home Learning books (you might need to search an image of one on the internet) and label North, South, East and West. Can you label North East, North West, South East, South West?
- Have you got a compass at home? You could use the internet to search how to make a homemade compass and have a go yourselves, or lots of mobile phones have a ‘compass app’, so you could ask your parents if you can have a look at theirs. Stand outside at your house using the compass (if you have one)….what can you see to the North? South? East? West? Record your findings in your Home Learning book under your compass.
