For a calmer start to the day why not try ‘Cosmic Yoga’ https://www.youtube.com/user/CosmicKidsYoga

Reading

  • Read ‘Great Galapagos’ (See the ‘files to download' section)
  • Then answer the questions about the text. Record your answers using full sentences in your home learning book.

Please ask an adult to email your teacher a photograph of your answers so we can see how you are getting on.

Times Table Rock Stars

  • Spend 15 minutes practising your times tables.

Spelling Task

  • Using your spellings from Monday complete the dictation sentences. The sentences are in the ‘files to download’ section on the website. Ask an adult to read each sentence to you and you need to write it in your home learning book.

Maths Task

  • Have a look at the lesson notes to find out the skills you need to use to complete the pages in the workbook. You are looking at finding numbers of days things last.
  • Complete page 54, 55 and 56 in your Maths No Problem workbook.

(Please only complete the pages we are giving you as we will be using the books for other lessons when we return to school).

  • Challenge problems
  • Once you have finished you can use the answers to check if you are correct.

Topic

  • “Arrrrr Me Hearties!!!!” This half term, we are looking at pirates and their way of life. Some of your writing tasks will be linked to pirates and some History and Geography activities will be too!
  • For Geography this week, we are going to look at a compass. Pirates used a compass to navigate the seas on their adventures.
  • Draw or ‘collage’ a ‘compass rose’ in your Home Learning books (you might need to search an image of one on the internet) and label North, South, East and West. Can you label North East, North West, South East, South West?
  • Have you got a compass at home? You could use the internet to search how to make a homemade compass and have a go yourselves, or lots of mobile phones have a ‘compass app’, so you could ask your parents if you can have a look at theirs. Stand outside at your house using the compass (if you have one)….what can you see to the North? South? East? West? Record your findings in your Home Learning book under your compass.
