Year 3 Home Learning

Well Done Year 3! (And Mums and Dads!) You have made it through the first week of home learning!!!! We have loved seeing the work you have done on Purple Mash and hearing about all the different things you are doing to keep yourself busy at home. Have a lovely weekend, keep working hard and we look forward to seeing you all soon.

From Mrs Thompson and Miss Bedford

The following activities are for you to complete at home or in school if you are able to attend. Tasks will be completed either online or in your home learning book, which your parents can check. Please ensure any work completed in your home learning book has a date and title.

Next week we will do the same thing and uploaded new work each evening for the following day.

Start the day with some exercise with Body Coach Joe Wicks. He will be doing live PE lessons on his youtube channel at 9am Monday - Friday if you and your family want to join in!

Reading Task

  • Spend 15 minutes reading independently. You can choose to read your own book, a school book, a bug club book, magazine, newspaper or comic. Pick something you will enjoy and spend the time reading for pleasure.

Times Table Rock Stars

  • Spend 15 minutes practising your times tables.

If you can’t access this, write your times tables out in your home learning book.

Grammar Task

  • Login to Purple Mash. In your ‘2 Do’ list you will have been allocated a grammar task – ‘Alien Time’. Use your knowledge of conjunctions to complete the sentences.
  • In your home learning book, write your own version of the alien story using different conjunctions. There is a conjunction word mat in the ‘files to download’ section to help you.

Maths Task

  • Arithmetic Challenge: in the ‘files to download’ section of the website is an arithmetic test. Give yourself no more than 30minutes to complete as many questions as you can. Record your answers in your home learning book.

There might be a few questions on fractions, have a go but if they are too hard then miss them out as we haven’t covered fractions yet!

  • There are two levels. Most of you should be able to complete level 2 but if this looks a little tricky for you try level 1.
  • If you can, ask an adult to check your work and help you with any questions you get wrong.
