School Admissions

In year applications - this policy will apply to all admissions from 1st September 2019 including in-year admissions. It will be used during 2019-2020 for allocating places for September 2019 as part of the main admissions round for reception. Cheshire East's fair access protocol will be applied alongside the policy to secure admission of vulnerable pupils from specific groups

Admissions 2020/21 Timescales

Primary school places offer date:

16th April 2020

Deadline to lodge appeal:

18th May 2020

Appeals to be heard by:

24th July 2020

Appeals received after 18th May 2020 will be heard by the same deadline if possible, if not they will be heard with 30 school days.

If your child is of infant school age (Reception, Year 1 or Year 2), then Infant Class Size Legislation may apply for your appeal.  Be aware that you are less likely to have an Infant Class Size appeal allowed than a non-Infant Class Size appeal. 

Appeals Information

You will receive notification advising when your appeal hearing will take place at least 10 days before it. You will be sent paperwork relating to the case which will include all of the written information we have received from you and all of the written information from the admission authority. You do not need to provide a written response ro the admission authority's case as you will have the opportunity to ask questions of their representative at the hearing.

Submitting additonal information

If you wish to submit additional information which you did not include with the appeal form, it must be received five school days before the appeal hearing. If significant information is received less than five school days before the hearing, the hearing may have to be moved to a later date.
