Mrs Ogg

Welcome to Ivy Bank Nursery Class!

Nursery is the first stage of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the first stage of your child’s education. We cater for children aged 2 1/2  years up until they are 4 years old and ready for the transition into a Reception class. We follow the statutory framework to ensure your children are safe, happy and develop as life long learners. To meet the needs of all children we closely follow the ratio guidance. For children aged two there is at least one member of staff for every four children and for children three and over there is at least one member of staff for every thirteen children.

Our Nursery Team

At Ivy Bank Nursery we aim to provide a happy, secure, friendly, stimulating environment where children learn and have fun together, supported by an enthusiastic and professional staff team.

Our Nursery is led by qualified Early Years staff:

  • Mrs Ogg is our Nursery Teacher
  • Miss Cleaver is our Teaching Assistant and Tiger group key worker.
  • Miss Boulton is our Teaching Assistant and Lion group key worker.
  • Mrs Robinson is our Teaching Assistant and Monkey group key worker.
  • Miss Davenport is our Teaching Assistant and Panda group key worker.
  • Mrs Cairns is our Teaching assistant and Nursery administrator.
  • Mrs Saunders is our Teaching Assistant

Our Nursery

Our Nursery class is made up of N1 (our 2 year olds) and N2 (our 3-4 year olds). Activities are planned and delivered to support your child’s current level of development and to encourage them to be creative and independent learners whilst following their own unique interests.

This is a time for new beginnings, making friends and having lots of wonderful experiences and opportunities for learning and growing. In the Nursery, we aim to build upon all the good work you have already done with your child during their early years. Developing your child’s Personal, Social and Emotional skills will help them to feel confident and to achieve their full potential in all areas of learning.

Outdoor Area

Here at Ivy bank we are in the process of developing our outdoor area and once it is complete children will have supported access to the outdoors . As we are outdoors every day we recommend children bring wellies, coats, sun cream and hats dependent on the weather. We also advise a spare set of clothing as we sometimes have messy play.

Please put your child's reading books and home learning books in the boxes on the trolly once they are ready for changing/marking.

Come and see us in action

We recommend parents and children come to visit the nursery before they start so they can become familiar with the environment and so that any questions can be asked prior to your child starting the nursery.

If you would like to look around, please do not hesitate to contact us to make an appointment
